I don’t remember when I was introduced to Reiki. In my travels, I had met several people who were practitioners but I didn’t put a lot of thought into the healing benefits it could provide. About five years ago, I found myself at a low-point in my life. I was struggling with depression and stress and needed some relief. That’s when I decided to try Reiki. I found a local practitioner and my first experience was incredible. Not only did I feel deeply relaxed, it felt like a fog had been lifted. A couple of years went by before I got another session, but by then I decided to become a certified practitioner.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese holistic healing technique that uses universal energy to balance, heal, and harmonize the body, mind, and spirit.
Energy is channeled through the practitioner to the client by “laying on hands” on various parts of the body.
When we are feeling our best, energy is flowing freely in the body. If there are any energetic blockages in our bodies, it can lead to stress and anxiety, depression, illness, and disease (to name a few).
I use Reiki to relieve stress and anxiety, help me sleep better, and relax. The benefits are endless.
